Luca Leone is Postdoc researcher in Legal Philosophy at the Faculty of Economics and Law of the Catholic University of Piacenza (Italy). After receiving a three-year Bachelor degree in Law of National and International Public Organisations (110 cum laude) from the LUISS University in Rome, in December 2007 he graduated in Business Law with a J.D. magna cum laude from the LUISS University, discussing a final thesis in Food law. From 2008 to 2010 he worked as stagiaire at the Italian Corte dei Conti (Rome), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Rome) and the Italian Ministry of Interior (Rome). After enrolling in the second level Master course of Consumer Law at the Roma Tre University, in February 2014 he earned a PhD at the Doctoral School on the Agro-Food System of the Catholic University of Piacenza. During the doctoral studies, he has spent five months at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Science, Technology and Society (IAS-STS) in Graz (Austria). His stay as Researcher Fellow was supported by the Ernst-Mach-Stipendien, financed by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research. His interests concern the legal regulation of science and technology, particularly in the field of the enabling technologies, the issues of scientific uncertainty and the law, the relationships between science and democracy.
